Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Light review

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream Light: There is now a lighter lotion version of the bestselling Magic Cream moisturiser

16th June 2020 | Author: Victoria Woollaston-Webber

Charlotte Tilbury has been relentless with launches recently – and we’re here for it (even if our bank balance isn’t!)

Following the release of her Magic Serum Crystal Elixir and Lip Oil, and her Airbrush Bronzer, Air-Brush and Desert Haze Luxury palette,  she has now released something we’ve wanted for a long time – Magic Cream Light.

Magic Cream Light is based on similar ingredients as the number-one, bestselling Charlotte’s Magic Cream, but comes in a much lighter, lotion-like formula. Something that becomes instantly clear as soon as you see it comes in a bottle with a pump dispenser, rather than in the pot with a lid.

Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream Light is on sale now via Charlottetilbury.com and a 50ml bottle costs £75.

Charlotte Tilbury currently sells her Magic Cream in both 30ml and 50ml pots priced at £49 and £75 respectively, but there doesn’t (yet) appear to be a 30ml version of the Magic Light Cream.

Ingredients-wise, the Magic Cream Light comes with a rating of SPF20, up from SPF 15 in the Magic Cream, and contains:

  • Radicare Gold Ultimate Blue Light shield – you can read more about how the blue light from your phone could be prematurely ageing you in our guide on how to prevent wrinkles
  • Replexium – an ingredient introduced in Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Serum Crystal Elixir
  • Crambe Seed Oil
  • Coconut Alkanes – a natural alternative to silicone derived from coconut oil
  • Vitamin E
  • Citystem – a trademarked formula made of glycerin and Marrubium Vulgare extract that promises to make the skin feel soft and smooth; refine skin grain and roughness and help make blackheads more visible

Results from a user trial, involving 211 people, found that 92% agreed their skin looked younger after using the Magic Cream Light for four weeks, while 98% said it made their skin feel nourished and hydrated.

In follow-up clinical tests, on 32 people, found that the cream boost hydration by 183% in one hour and defends against pollution, UVA and UVB rays.

“As the seasons change, and people’s skin changes, sometimes there’s a need for a lighter-textured moisturiser that still delivers clinically proven results in hydration, skin-smoothing and skin- defence,” explained Charlotte Tilbury.

“This new formula of my iconic award-winning Magic Cream has a light, lotion-like texture that leaves your skin feeling dewy and hydrated with a delicate veil of glow!

“When I traveled to Asia, so many women and men told me that they adored Magic Cream for winter but needed a fluid-like moisturiser for humid conditions, sweat-inducing summer weather, and oil-prone skin.

“I have worked with some of the world’s leading scientists, chemists and dermatologists to formulate this ground-breaking formula with clinically proven ingredients to give everyone, everywhere magic skin!”

Magic Cream Light will go on sale more widely from 25 June – just in time for summer.
