Eyelash curlers get a bit of a mixed rep. There is still some debate about how well they work but we’re big fans here at mamabella. The best eyelash curler can make a major difference to not only the curl and length of your lashes but how fanned out they are – especially if you have short, stubby Asian lashes like us.
With this in mind, we’ve put a series of eyelash curlers to the test to discover which are the best – and we’ve included our favourite heated eyelash curler, too. There should be something for all budgets here but if we’ve missed out your favourite, let us know on Facebook or Instagram.
Remember to take your time with eyelash curlers. Our editor Victoria once slipped and pulled out half of her lashes while walking around with the curlers on her eye! Also, be sure to read the instructions on heated eyelash curlers properly.

mamabella tip #1: If you don’t have heated eyelash curlers, give the eyelash curls a blast of the hairdryer. Make sure it’s cooled down first, and the eyelash curlers feel warm but not hot, and then start the step-by-step guide.
mamabella tip #2: Do not use eyelash curlers on lashes that already have mascara on. It can make them brittle and they can break more easily

Why we love it: No wonder this Kevyn Aucoin eyelash curler has won awards. It creates a flirtatious, feminine flick without the boxy look which some eyelash curlers produce. With these, there are no nips and twinges that we often get.
The red rubber pad makes it easier for us to see our eyelashes when clamping down, and this eyelash curler opens wide to fit even the smallest of lashes. It gives great hold to make the work for your mascara a little easier.

Why we love it: Having a small compact eyelash curler in the makeup bag is very handy!
We love how this mini eyelash curler gives a great lift to eyelashes, just simply flip down the back of the curler and press down.

Why we love it: This eyelash curler has been designed to prevent any pinching, it is a little pricey but it gives a very good clean eyelash curl that lasts.
The shape of this eyelash curler is designed to fit deep-set eyes and especially great for Asian eye shapes. It gives a great curl for straight stubborn lashes and comes with a replaceable rubber pad as well.

Why we love it: We have to say heated eyelash curlers sound a little scary, but these electric heated eyelash curlers have three different settings and they heat up in 10 seconds. They make natural lashes look curled and volumised, and the curved brush head easily fits on eyelashes to give that lifted look.

Why we love it: Whether you’re on a budget or not, this is a great eyelash curler from one of the best cheap makeup brands around, NYX Professional.
It grips and curls the lashes with pinching, pulling, or tugging on them. We like that there is also a spare rubber pad, even for £5.50.
Eyelash curlers are to enhance and help lift lashes to give mascara a good starting chance and this eyelash curler does the job just fine.
